STEM education in the US and California is lacking. Only 39% of students in California met or exceeded the math standards in spring 2018. In addition, California alone needs 33,000 new math and science teachers over the next 10 years.
EnCorps serves Fellows and schools in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Sacramento Area, Greater Los Angeles Area, Riverside, North Orange County and Greater San Diego Area of California, and the Greater Denver Area of Colorado.
EnCorps supports two types of teaching credentials: traditional/core single subjects such as math, chemistry, biology and physics, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) subjects such as engineering, manufacturing, business and finance, information technology and health sciences.
